INDIVIDUAL THERAPY
Your Investment In You
I believe that throughout life’s most interesting journeys, whether painful, full of change, optimistic, oppositional, or health, it is often easier to have someone to walk with. Circumstances arise which we cannot change, but how we deal with these circumstances are what make us into the individuals we are. Through a calm and safe space, I believe that clients are able to establish and nourish effective coping skills to feel empowered, ready to face the different events that arise with challenge. Some of the most complex events that we go through, such as a recent job/duty changes, change
in location, loss or death of a family member or loss of relationship. Goals for each session should aid in changing unhealthy patterns for strengthened personal growth.
PRE-MARITAL/ COUPLES THERAPY
A Collaborative "Us"
Partner therapy is the most direct investment you can make on yourself, your partner, your children or the idea of starting a family. Whether you are already seeking individual therapy or not, couples therapy sees you as one unit working together towards a common goal. Pre-marital and couples counseling may surface the differences you have as individuals coming together, but more importantly, it can show you the individual strengths you bring to create a harmonious family. Whether time in session is used to continue to cultivate something that is already working well together, or is used to collaboratively grow into a healthy, communicative, intimate, and more understanding relationship that both individuals appreciate, this space will be used to achieve you unit goals.
MULTICULTURAL/FIRST-GENERATIONAL
Arabic Speaking Therapy
Being a first generational individual comes with its own challenges. Often times it is not the impact of being first-generational that is most challenging, but being an individual being raised in one culture while residing in another. Communicating with parents and family who continue to function from another countries framework can be difficult and misunderstood. Not that one culture is better than the other, but the clashes they have amongst themselves can sometimes cause an interpersonal struggle. It is my goal to use sessions as a safe place where these clashes can be discussed and worked on.
FIRST RESPONDERS
Law Enforcement, Fire Department, Military (Active/Discharged), & Trauma Doctors
We all find ourselves in stressful jobs, but there are some jobs with a much higher risk than others. It was my experience when working with first responders that they often find themselves juggling scenarios and events at work, as well as with their personal lives. I have experience working with law enforcement and fire department personnel with individual therapy as well as marital and family counseling. I am also EMDR trained to work with current and past trauma history and have found it to be beneficial for all types of trauma
POST-PARTUM PARTNERS
Life After Birth
Did you know that postpartum depression is the most frequent medical complication of childbirth? And yet we do not address it a something that is not only important, but sadly, common. There is an underlying stigma with women, or partners, who have had recent births and the idea that not being happy is linked with being ungrateful. Due to the chemical imbalances that occur during pregnancy and birth, it is beneficial to speak with your OBGYN in regards to health management. Starting a family is perhaps one of the biggest responsibilities a person has and whether you physically birthed the child, have become their legal guardian, adopted parents or are the partner of the mother, apprehension can settle in whether it is your first child or not. This can be a time of joy, happiness, gratefulness and despair, but it can also be a time for doubt, vulnerability, exhaustion and overwhelming unknowns. Whether you chose to come to session alone
or with your partner.
YOUNG ADULTS
Adolescents & College-Aged
As if becoming an adolescent wasn’t enough, patients are now trying to brand themselves in their own unique ways. Sometimes, adolescents feel as though they don’t entirely know what is going on in their own worlds, on top of seeing what is going on in the world around them. Emotional health is something navigated by everyone, but often times past experiences, like familial breaks, changes in parents, difficult parenting styles, changing locations and schools or losing friends can cause a hindrance in growth. It is important that we work together to foster skills that strengthen your emotional health, such as confidence, character, integrity and direction.
